Actor Tim Robbins received the 2,371st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at a ceremony on October 11, 2008.1. The Walk of Fame was established in 1958 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce as a way to honor local personalities.2
The Hollywood Reporter asked the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce whether Robbins' controversial political stances made him a difficult choice; they responded that there was no doubt he was more than deserving of the award for his contribution to film.3
