Tim Allen is an American comedian and actor. He was born on June 13, 1953 in Denver, Colorado. He grew up in Birmingham, Michigan along with his five siblings and three step siblings. Allen attended Western Michigan University and received an honorary degree. On April 7, 1984, Allen married Laura Deibel. They have a daughter together named Katherine. Allen and Deibel divorced in 2003 after 19 years of marriage. On October 7, 2006, Allen married actress Jane Hajduk in Grand Lake, Colorado.

Allen began his career in comedy. He became a member of The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Allen became famous with his role of Tim Taylor on the television sitcom Home Improvement from 1991 to 1999. In 1994, he starred in the Christmas film The Santa Clause. In 1995, he was the voice of Buzz Lightyear on the animated film Toy Story. Since then he has played in the films Jungle 2 Jungle, For Richer or Poorer, The Santa Clause 2, Christmas with the Kranks, The Shaggy Dog, and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. His more recent works include Wild Hogs and Redbelt.

In 1978, Allen was reportedly arrested for selling drugs. In 1979, he was arrested again for the possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to 28 months in prison in Sandstone, Minnesota. In 1997, Allen was arrested once again for DUI. He was sentenced to one year probation. On March 22, 2008, Allen entered into rehab for his addiction to alcohol and cocaine.
