A Shot at Love is a reality show in the vein of The Bachelor where 16 men and 16 women compete for Tequila's love. At the end of the first season, Tequila chose Bobby Banhart as the winner and the two began a relationship. The couple split up in December 2007.

In the second season of Shot at Love, Tequila selected Playboy model Kristy Morgan as the winner, though Morgan rejected Tequila and ultimately decided to remain single.

Tequila signed with will.i.am's A&M; based record label in 2006, though no singles or albums were released under this contract. Her MySpace page set a record for "friends" with over three million and helped popularize her first single, "I Love U." Her EP, Sex, was released in March 2007.
