Tibet Earthquake
Tibet was shaken by a magnitude 6.3 earthquake on October 6, 2008. The quake came less than 24 hours after a major earthquake rocked Kyrgyzstan. A magnitude 5.1 aftershock was felt about 15 minutes after the initial quake. Although the quake occurred in a remote region of Tibet, 30 people have reportedly died from buildings collapsing.1

August 2008 Earthquake
A 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit southern Tibet on August 25, 2008. The quake, which hit a mountainous area near the border of China and Nepal, occurred at a depth of 21.7 miles. The quake was felt as far away as New Delhi, India.3
