Three Rivers Prison Riot

Guide Note: A riot broke out at a federal prison near Three Rivers, Texas on March 28, 2008. The riot broke out around 7:30 a.m. local time according to Federal officials. Leon County Sheriff's Department indicated that 30 inmates were injured during the incident. There is no report of any injury to the prison staff at this time. The riot was brought under control, and is no longer a threat. The reasons for the riot is unclear . There was a disturbance at a different Federal prison in Texas just a few days before. The Three Rivers Prison is located approximately eight miles from town, and also eighty miles south of San Antonio and 70 miles northwest of Corpus Christi.
