The Lookout Movie

Guide Note

2007 crime film The Lookout was longtime screenwriter Scott Frank's first directorial effort. Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jeff Daniels, the film opened to favorable critical reviews and won the 2008 Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature.

The film's soundtrack was composed by James Newton Howard and included several songs by My Morning Jacket including "One Big Holiday" and "Lay Low."

Plot

Following a car accident, Chris Pratt (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is left mentally incapacitated, unable to remember things for an extended period of time. He lives with his blind friend Lewis (Jeff Daniels) and works as a bank's night janitor. Pratt is befriended by the leader of gang (Matthew Goode) and a young woman (Isla Fisher) who plan to rob the bank.
