The Last Airbender is a live-action movie adaptation of the animated Nickelodeon cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender. The film will be written, directed and produced by filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan.

The title of the movie was shortened from Avatar: The Last Airbender to The Last Airbender to avoid confusion with director James Cameron's upcoming 2009 film Avatar.
