Plot Summary
Rupert Pupkin (Robert De Niro) believes that he is destined to become a famous stand-up comedian despite only having performed in front of cardboard cutouts in his mother's basement. After being rejected by his hero, talk show host Jerry Langford (Jerry Lewis), Pupkin and his equally obsessed friend Masha (Sandra Bernhard) kidnap Langford in an attempt to secure Pupkin a place on Langford's talk show.
