The Indian in the Cupboard is a 1980 classic children's novel written by British author Lynne Reid Banks.

The story is about a young boy named, Omri, who receives a magical cupboard from his brother for his birthday. He soon discovers that when he puts plastic toy figures inside the cupboard, and locks it with a special key that belonged to his great-grandmother, the figures comes to life. The first figure to come alive is an Iroquois Indian named Little Bear, who becomes Omri's friend.
