- DeAnna Pappas, our season four Bachelorette, had her heart crushed by Brad Womack on the 2007 Bachelor when he was unable to commit to love and did not choose either of the remaining two women to share his life. Heartbroken but still believing in the power of love and fairy tales, DeAnna is taking charge of her life and is once again searching for her prince charming.
- The show opens with a heart wrenching recap of season eleven of The Bachelor and we are reintroduced to DeAnna as she shares her hopes and dreams of finding true love and this time being in control of her destiny. Ellen DeGeneres is shown interviewing her on the Ellen talk show and mentions to DeAnna that she should be the next Bachelorette.
- We meet the men and what a bunch of hotties! Ron (a barber) tells us that he has been married and divorced while Ryan (a pro football player) admits to being a virgin and a Christian who doesn't smoke or drink. Jason is a single dad that spends most of his time with his darling son Ty.
- The host Chris Harrison makes note of DeAnna's arrival as she pulls up in a black limousine. She exits the car in a revealing gold lamé floor length gown and looks stunning. DeAnna says she is more than ready to begin and it feels great to be back in the same house. She admits to falling in love with Brad and believes that the show "works" in spite of her earlier experience. She tells Chris Harrison that if it were not for the way Brad treated her, she would not be here today and she understands that everything happens for a reason. She tells Chris that her ideal man is one who is caring, who loves his family, someone who respects her, who can make her laugh, won't get lost in a crowd and he must know first and foremost what he wants.
- The men arrive and the party begins! Paul turns her around in a dance move, Jesse makes her laugh with his funky outfit. Brian twirls her around to get a good look and says "the show is over". Jason speaks Greek to her and she is impressed. She spins Donato around and he reciprocates. DeAnna greets Robert with a comment about his height and she twirls him around and he shows her a bit of Salsa dancing. Humm...is this an offshoot of Dancing with the Stars? Last but not least DeAnna greets her final bachelor Jeremy and he responds in a foreign language and tells her that he will let her know what he had said when they talk inside.
- Inside the house the men are gushing about how gorgeous DeAnna is when she walks in and tells them that she has three first impression roses to hand out. The first rose goes to Jeremy. Jason takes her away from the group for some one-on-one time and they discuss their love for travel and family. She shares that her mother died when she was twelve and he is happy that she is so involved with her family but decides to wait to tell her about his son. We watch her talking with Ryan outside on the patio and the men inside comment that DeAnna is shivering and Ryan has not offered her his coat. Spiro walks out and covers her shoulders with his coat and chastises Ryan for not doing the same. The men inside the house tell Spiro that he has thrown Ryan "under the bus". Alone with Ron he tells her that he has been divorced for two years. She asks Chris if he has ever cheated in a relationship and he says that he has but would never do it again. Then Robert steps up to cook a crab dip for her and presents it in a cocktail glass. Luke (the oyster farmer) gives DeAnna a pearl necklace and they discuss what oyster farming is. He admits that he is also a history teacher and farms for oysters during the winter because his classes don't start until the fall.
- The guys are falling all over themselves to grab DeAnna's attention when former bachelorette Jenni arrives to help her out. Jenni questions the guys with a range of questions that are aimed to find the right man for DeAnna. Richard gives DeAnna a Herkimer diamond which he explains is really quartz crystal but is renowned in the area of New York where he lives. Eric tells DeAnna that he speaks fluent Greek. He tells the viewers that he is looking for a Greek woman to marry and that DeAnna may be the Greek Goddess that he is waiting for. Crazy jacket Jesse interrupts DeAnna's conversation by climbing over the back of the couch to sit between her and another bachelor. DeAnna tells him that she likes his coat when they are suddenly interrupted by Sean, a martial arts instructor, who kicks a lemon off of Jesse's head. Impressive! Jenni and Deanna get together to discuss who Jenni would choose for DeAnna to give the roses to and she has kind words to say about Jesse, Graham and Jason.
- Rose #2 is given to Jesse and the guys start to become nervous that they might not get the last one. Chandler brings out a "duck call" and Brian makes her touch his "abs of steel". Paul takes her away from the "zoo" (my words) and jumps fully clothed into the swimming pool. When he climbs out, he strips down to a speedo that has DeAnna's name embroidered across the rear. The other guys are incredulous. DeAnna finally gets some time alone with Graham and they find that they have both been bartenders in the past. He is currently managing bars in New York and is starting a scholarship fund for children with illnesses. She leaves Graham to find the remaining rose but ends up giving the third rose to Richard.
- The Rose Ceremony begins with the first rose being given to Ron. Then the final roses are given in this order: Graham, Eric, Robert, Sean, Ryan, Chris, Paul, Fred, Twilley, Jason and Brian from Texas. As Greg the personal trainer exits ABC continually bleeps his words and he admits to being a bleeping rebellious ba*stard who hates the shirt that he is wearing. He proceeds to tear it off of his body revealing numerous tattoos on his upper body, which he flexes, and then proceeds to howl like a coyote.
- There is an fascinating twist this season with DeAnna living in the mansion and the guys living in a bunkhouse down the road. They sleep in bunk beds and bathe in an outside shower without privacy. When the men earn the privilege, they will join DeAnna in her living quarters. This should get interesting!!
Season 4: Episode 2, Monday, May 26, 2008
- Chris Harrison met the men to share that if they did not receive the rose on their individual date, they would immediately be sent home. They also would be living behind the mansion in a guest house with bunk beds and an outdoor shower. Three men would be able to leave the guest house each week to live with DeAnna. This week, that privilege went to the three men who received the first impression roses; Jeremy, Jesse and Richard.
- The chosen three left to find DeAnna in the mansion and the remainder walked the long path to the bunk house. Inside they found 12 beds in one room and checked out the cold water in the outdoor shower...Graham says "we're going to see a lot of shrinkage", as he touched the water.
- The fifteen men gathered together so that the date card could be shared among them all. The group date would be tonight and it included Jason, Ryan, Twilley, Sean, Paul, Fred and Richard. The clue to the date was in the words "Do you believe in Magic?" So of course, it was off to a magic show. The magician put on a show and then had DeAnna step up to assist him. He asked her to pick a helper and Jason was chosen. They both stepped into a box and *poof* they disappeared. Finally the remaining men realized that the couple would not be returning and discussed whether Jason would kiss her. DeAnna and Jason ended up in a red velvet room and spent time talking, but he admitted to the viewers that he still had not opened up about his son. Meanwhile Sean got a chance to sit down with DeAnna to talk but was continually interrupted by the magic piano that played mysterious tunes all by itself and the tunes mocked Sean. The guys took turns doing magic tricks for DeAnna until Twilley decided to put on a long drawn out fairy tale play that bored them all to tears. Richard took DeAnna aside and made her a paper flower, and told her that he had only made the flower for one other person. Together in a different room, the remaining six men, with Ryan as the leader, discussed the fact that they didn't believe that Twilley was there for the right reasons and Ryan stated that Twilley was not as dedicated as the others were to winning DeAnna's heart and that he believed Twilley was just around to put on a show. When DeAnna returned Ryan let DeAnna know that he has always wanted to be an exception in a disciplined way. She seemed somewhat taken back and said that she was afraid that she might corrupt him because he is so good, yet asked if that would leave time for a woman, a family and football. He assured her that his priorities were faith, family and football and he would love to be a dad and a husband. Paul interrupted their conversation to speak with DeAnna and they discussed their five year plans. She would like to be married, have a child and another one on the way in that time frame. He was thrilled that they both had similar goals in respect to marriage and family. Paul must have impressed DeAnna as she chose him to receive the rose.
- Back at the "ranch" the date box arrived. The card said, "Graham let's head to the shore to get swept away." The guys razzed Graham about leaving if he doesn't get the rose tonight, but he was just happy to get time alone with DeAnna. DeAnna drove them to the beach where they had fun attempting to fly a kite. They chatted on the rocks overlooking the ocean and Graham opened up about his recent breakup and that it was with his first love at the age of 29. DeAnna admitted to him her fear of falling for someone on the show only to have him tell her at the end of it, "thanks for the ride." She did not want to be involved with someone again that doesn't know what he wants. They built a fire and discussed those issues and he appeared to reassure her that he was ready to explore a serious relationship. DeAnna gave him the rose, he was relieved and they kissed.
- The second date box arrived with a card that said " a diamond is a girl's best friend, step up to the plate." This time Chris, Robert, Jesse, Ron, Eric, Brian and Jeremy are chosen for the date. The bachelors were sitting around a fire and Ryan admitted to them that he was a virgin.
- Twilley went up to the mansion and waited while DeAnna and Graham said their goodbyes. He asked DeAnna if she would sit down and talk with him so that he could let her know that he has a second side which she hasn't seen yet.
- Off they went to the ball park for a group date and a meeting with baseball legend Tommy Lasorda. Tommy gave them a pep talk about "believing" that they could win DeAnna. Chris was picked to sing the National Anthem and murdered it, not knowing the words. Lasorda was kindly disgusted. The men were in a batting competition for alone time with DeAnna and Jeremy won with six home run hits. He thanked her for the first impression rose the conversation turned to the reasons that he had been so guarded with her. He tells DeAnna that both of his parents passed away and she bonded with him because she had never dated anyone that understood the feelings that she had had due to her mother's death when DeAnna was twelve. Later Eric had a chance to talk with DeAnna and the Greek connection was still the main topic of conversation. Lasorda imparted some relational wisdom to DeAnna and she took Jeremy away from the guys to be alone with him. Outside on the big screen the guys were treated to DeAnna presenting the offer of the rose to Jeremy, which he gladly acceptted. Then they were treated to a fireworks display!
- The second rose ceremony gathering arrived. The guys were jealous of Jeremy a getting a second rose, which enabled him to stay in the mansion for a longer period of time. Ron questioned DeAnna about that and she essentially told all of them seated around her that Jeremy opened up to her and they needed to step it up if they were going to remain there. Alone again Jeremy revealed to DeAnna the meaning of the foreign words that he had spoken to her when they first met. The translation was "I came here to meet you, especially for you". They kissed and he walked her back inside. Alone with the guys, they attacked Jeremy by telling him he was immature and unprofessional for taking DeAnna away for alone time when he had so much time with her. "Good boy" Ryan called him a d*ck. DeAnna appeared and took Ron away. He asked if his divorce was an issue and she said it wasn't and that Ron intrigued her. A competitive push-up contest ensued between the men with Jesse as the winner at nearly 100 push-ups. That feat won him alone time with DeAnna where they spoke about whether Jesse would ever move from Colorado. He admitted he is ready to move and would give up professional snowboarding for family life.
- The roses were handed out in the following order: Ron, Jesse, Robert, Brian, Jason, Fred, Sean, Richard and Twilley. DeAnna broke down for a minute after sending three men home, but recovered to join the remaining men for a Champagne toast.
- Next week looks interesting as Deanna took a fall, the guys continued to pick fights with Jeremy and the men are asked to model their Ellen DeGeneres underwear. See you then!

- The evening opens with Deanna picking Richard up for their date. She wore a floor length black ball gown. A limo whisked them away to the Landmark Building in Los Angeles where they had dinner. Richard divulged that he has never taken a girl home to meet his parents. Deanna is taken aback by this, and she knew that she would have to decide if Richard would receive a rose. Later, the couple went for a carriage ride through downtown Los Angeles. Deanna confessed to the camera that she planned the ride to see if it would trigger feelings inside her for her date. In the middle of the ride Deanna had the driver pull over and told Richard that she did NOT have feelings for him. Both tear up and Richard hopped in a taxi and went home.
- Back at the house the guys received a red box. Everyone but Jason was set to go on a City Slickers inspired trip. The gang and Deanna went to a ranch the next day where they learned to line dance and rode a mechanical bull. Deanna fell off the bull, and Jessi was the first man to her rescue. Deanna was so grateful that she rewarded him with one-on-one tacos. She then took Ron for some alone time. The entire time Deanna talked about Jeremy. When arrived back at the campfire he told the men, including Jeremy, that he thought Jeremy was lacking something as a man. Jeremy leaves with Deanna but their time is interrupted by two other contestants. The last man to have time with Deanna is Robert. After a heartfelt talk... Deanna gave Robert the rose.
- After the gang returned to the house, it was time for Jason and Deanna's date. She sent him a note that read "Reach for the stars". No one knew what that meant until a helicopter arrived to whisk them away for their date. The helicopter took them to the Wilson Observatory where they had champagne and dinner. Jason told Deanna about his son Ty, and Deanna opened up and told Jason about the tragic death of her mother.
- The next day the entire gang was on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The group met Ellen, and she forces them to a dance-off. She then helped Deanna choose who would receive a rose. Before the final decision Ellen made the men drop their pants to reveal that they were wearing underwear with her name on them! Ellen then gets down to making the decision of which man would receive the rose. She dragged it out for as long as possible, finally bestowing the honor on Fred.
- Before the Rose Ceremony, Ron told Deanna that he desired to stay and that he wanted to open up to her and make peace with Jeremy. Jeremy interrupted and made his plea for her heart. They kissed. Deanna then took Graham outside. He opened up to her, and they kissed. Finally, Deanna gets Jason alone outside and gave him a gift. She had a star named after his son. Jason is very touched and they kissed.
- The Rose Ceremony: Ron and Paul were eliminated.

- The guys all wrote and sang songs to DeAnna, "working it" all the way. She chose Jesse because he held her hand and went all out for her. The date was formal, which made him nervous, but Jesse looked nice in his tuxedo and seemed to relax when he saw DeAnna arrive. DeAnna said she didn't want to change Jesse, but wanted to make sure that their "lives would fit together." They entered a theater for a show and little did Jesse know that he would be the first act. DeAnna introduced him to the empty theater and once again, he performed his poem/song for her. They sat down and Jesse revealed that he had feelings for DeAnna and she told him that she was impressed the very first night because Jesse was "real" and she needed that. DeAnna asked him to accept the rose and Natasha Bedingfield appeared and gave them a private performance. They danced.
- The group date men are announced and Twilley, Jason, Sean, Brian, Jeremy and Graham are thrilled when the date card is read. It says "Gentlemen start your engines" and they hope that it involves racing cars. Fred and Robert realize that they will have the two-on-one date.
- A large RV arrived and whisked the men and DeAnna to the Auto Club Speedway to race stock cars. Sean was in his element as he raced muscle cars while living at home. Brian raced first and had a little trouble starting the car. He took off and raced at 140 m.p.h. Jason was nervous, but made it to 138 m.p.h. Next up was Graham, who admitted he never drove cars as he always takes the subway in Manhattan. He came in third place at 136 m.p.h. Jeremy followed at 139 m.p.h. and was upset with that speed. Twilley cranked it up and hit 140.5 m.p.h. Sean took them all down with a speed of 141.11 m.p.h. and he is thrilled that he won alone time with DeAnna. They shared the fact that they both lived in Kentucky and Sean believed that his status increased in DeAnna's mind. DeAnna took her turn racing and beat them all with a speed of 141.60 m.p.h.
- Jeremy took DeAnna aside and the guys were jealous. DeAnna knew that Jeremy was taken with her but she admitted that she was intrigued by Graham. The other men saw the body language and connection between them and were concerned that their chances with DeAnna might not be there. She rubbed Graham's arm and asked him to kiss her but he refused, and said that he didn't want to be one of a bunch. She was hurt and told Graham. Sean got the rose.
- The outhouse guys planned a party to relieve their boredom. They set tables with flowers, filled a wading pool with water and invited DeAnna and the guys at the mansion to join them. A kiddie table was set for the mansion guys and Robert's name tag was labeled "Bobbie". He wasn't happy about that and tossed a chair over the stone fence. They played games but DeAnna felt left out and noticed that Graham was avoiding her. DeAnna went to find Robert after she was told that he was inside and lying down. When she found him, Robert said that he was told by some others that he should not expect to go into the two-on-one date with expectations of staying. She was angry and had him follow her outside. She confronted the guys and told them that they were all breaking her heart. She cried and said that she understood that they felt bad that she was dating and kissing other men, but if they couldn't handle it, they should go home. She left and went to the mansion.
- Back to Robert and Fred...whose date card read "Who has the recipe for love?" DeAnna arranged for the three of them to have dinner at a home in the Hollywood Hills. They discussed the most romantic moments that they have had and DeAnna dodged Roberts ploy to get her to kiss him. She nabbed him for running away from the situation earlier instead of openly communicating with her. Later she was alone with Fred and they had a touching conversation and they hugged. DeAnna told Robert that she wasn't going to have him stay and he was devastated! She returned to Fred and told him that she could not see forever with him and refused to lead him on like Brad did to her. Both men were sent home!
- Back at the mansion, the men realized what happened when both Fred and Robert's suitcases were removed from the house. Jason greeted DeAnna and comforted her as they lounged around the fire.
- The men arrived at the mansion for the rose ceremony gathering. The men took turns talking to DeAnna and then they all changed into swimsuits. They had a great time in the pool until Chris Harrison arrived and announced the rose ceremony. Jason received the first rose and was followed by Jeremy, Twilley and Graham. Brian was sent home.
- Next week DeAnna reveals her feelings about all of the men and they find themselves in Palm Springs for more romantic dates.
Season 4: DeAnna Tells All, Monday, June 16, 2008
- YouTube Video: The Bachelorette "DeAnna Tells All" (Time: 9:57)
-
- DeAnna Pappas and Chris Harrison had a mid-season chat in front of a beautiful fire. DeAnna admitted to Chris that she was shocked, while watching the show later, to find out that Ryan was a virgin. She was also embarrassed for Paul when he exposed his tiny bathing suit after his dive into the pool, the first night. Rob impressed her by taking the time to "think outside of the box" and cook for her. During the chat, they discussed the day that Graham would not kiss her and how hurt she was with that rejection. She spoke of the connection she had with Sean when they discovered their Southern similarities and her affection for Jason when he opened up to her about the death of his mother. DeAnna told Chris that she knew that she was not emotionally involved with Richard when she sensed that he wanted to kiss her, but she did not want to kiss him. She admitted that she did not want to hurt him by leading him on.
- DeAnna explained her anger at the outhouse cookout by saying that the guys acted like they could have cared less that she was there that night. She didn't understand why they were not able to focus on their relationship with her and stop worrying about her relationship with the other men. She felt that the guys were acting like everything was a joke and were not taking the situation seriously. She said at that point they were breaking her heart. Next they discussed the two-on-one date with Fred and Robert and DeAnna admitted that she did not know what to do when Robert leaned in to kiss her. She knew at that moment that she did not have romantic feelings for him and needed to send him home. She knew by sending Robert home that Fred would think that he was staying and she admitted how difficult it was for her to go back inside and tell him that he was also not going to stay. Again, the theme was that she did not want to lead Fred on and you can clearly see how hurt she was in The Bachelor and how that fact has colored her behavior with these men.
- The original bachelorette Trista and her husband Ryan Sutter introduced their six-month-old baby Max and discussed the show where they met, their wedding and their lives in Vail, Colorado. Trista admitted that Jason and Graham were two good choices for DeAnna.
- The viewers were given a deeper glimpse into the lives of the remaining bachelors.
- Snowboarding champ Jesse owned up to braking broken numerous body parts in the past. He didn't think that he would get a rose because he was so different from the rest of the guys. He was surprised how quickly that DeAnna entered his heart.
- Jason is a risk taker. He loves to golf, run and backpack. He is a single father of three-year-old son Ty and thinks that DeAnna would be a good mother.
- Martial Arts Master Sean is into name brands, primping and cars. He is very close to his family and lives a block away from them. He admits to being a Southern gentleman and a "mama's boy."
- Graham doesn't verbalize his emotions and has a hard time sharing DeAnna without getting upset.

- DeAnna took the guys to Palm Springs, CA, California where each one had a chance to date her and no roses were given to any of them. Sean and DeAnna took an aerial trip up a mountain where they had a romantic dinner at the very top. They went back to DeAnna's place for desert and lounged in a hammock together and kissed. Sean was sure that DeAnna would chose him that week.
- Jason, Twilley, Jesse and Graham had a group date getting "down and dirty" and having "fun in the sun". A helicopter arrived and DeAnna and Twilley ended up together on their own ride and Twilley got a case of motion sickness. The other guys rode in their own helicopter to a place in the desert where they all met up and rode 4-wheelers. Twilley rode alone "playing by himself, all day." Jesse impressed DeAnna with his skills and she thought he was "hot." Back at DeAnna's place, Jason and DeAnna got together and talked about what it would be like to meet his family and then Jesse stole her away. Jesse disappointed DeAnna when he didn't try to kiss her. Graham interrupted them and they went to the hammock to talk about meeting his family and he finally kissed DdeAnna.
- Jason and DeAnna hopped in a white vintage automobile and went to Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner's 1940s home for dinner. The sang Sinatra songs, danced and kissed. Jeremy admitted his feelings for her and they took the kissing out to the pool.
- Following the dates in Palm Springs, the guys arrived for the rose ceremony but were surprised that DeAnna was not there to greet them. They did not yet know that she had decided not to have the cocktail party because she didn't want to have them suffer through another party, when she already knew who she was going to send home. Chris Harrison arrived to give them the news and the rose ceremony began. Jeremy was given the first rose and was followed by Jason, Graham and Jesse. Twilley and Sean were sent home.

- Breckenridge, Colorado was the first stop on the home dates. DeAnna joined Jesse on the ski slope where he teaches snowboarding. Jesse taught her a thing or two until she landed face down in the snow. Jesse was impressed by DeAnna's athleticism. Jesse put DeAnna on his back and he snowboarded down the mountain with her clinging to him. Wow!! They checked out Jesse's place and he told DeAnna about a JSAK, a non-profit organization that he started seven years ago to help underprivileged children fund snowboarding. Snowboards hung like art on his walls and he gave DeAnna a tour of the house. Jesse's parents arrived with his father wearing a comical hat with long stringy hair. DeAnna saw the resemblance between the two men and appreciated Jesse's father's sense of humor. Alone with his dad, Jesse told him that DeAnna was the first woman that made his palms sweat and his heart beat fast. Jesse's mom told DeAnna that she had been unable to get pregnant for twelve years and when Jesse finally arrived, they named him Jesse because the name means "a gift from God." Jesse took his father's advice and opened up to DeAnna. He took her for a romantic carriage ride and finally kissed her.
- Off to Dallas to meet Jeremy's family. He rode his motorcycle to meet DeAnna and they took a ride which ended at Jeremy's "perfect" place. He showed DeAnna photos of his deceased parents and I noticed how much DeAnna resembled his mother. Then he read an account, that he wrote, of his final moments with his mother and it touched DeAnna deeply. Jeremy's siblings arrived to meet DeAnna. Meridith, Jeremy's sister-in-law, took DeAnna aside to talk. DeAnna asked Meridith to give her some dirt on Jeremy. Instead, she said that he is a thoughtful guy and was awed that he had opened up to DeAnna. Jeremy's brothers are afraid that he will be hurt and that they would be left to pick up the pieces. Jeremy told DeAnna that he not only wanted her but that he needed her as well. They kissed.
- Jason's date started off with a trip to the top of the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington. They had a romantic meal and then went to meet Jason's son Ty at the park. Jason's family embraced DeAnna and seemed to be taken with her. Jason and DeAnna had a tearful goodbye with his family and they went back to his place.
- A basketball date with Graham took place in Raleigh, North Carolina at Graham's high school gym. Graham had a jersey made up for DeAnna that included his last name (Bunn) on it. The two of them went to visit Graham's parents Ike and Karan. Karan told DeAnna that Graham had not had long relationships and was basically a loner. Graham and DeAnna went off to a bench to talk and he shut her out and refused to open up. DeAnna was very disappointed.
- Back at the Los Angeles mansion, the rose ceremony took place. The first rose went to Jesse and was followed by roses given to Jeremy and Jason. Graham was sent home but before he left, DeAnna walked him out and they sat down to talk. DeAnna was angry and Graham was defensive. In tears, she explained why she let him go. Graham gave her a letter that he had written to her that explained what he had been unable to say. DeAnna began to second guess her decision.
- I can't wait until next week when we find out what Graham's letter had to say and we get to hear what the guys all thought of each other...see you then!

- On Grand Bahama island, DeAnna and Jeremy had a great day at the beach. DeAnna was concerned because Jeremy seemed distant and she was reminded that she sent Graham home for similar reasons. At dinner, Jeremy opened up and told her that he had fallen in love with her and he told the camera that his dream wass to get down on bended knee and give DeAnna a wedding ring. He accepted the offer to go to the fantasy suite with DeAnna and they ended up in the room cuddling on the bed.
- Jason met DeAnna on the island for his date and they set off on an off-road trip to a secluded lake for a picnic. It is hard to explain, but they pulled themselves (on a floating dock) across the lake where the picnic was waiting for them. They ate, drank, kissed and took off on a kayaking trip. Dinner that evening was romantic and DeAnna admitted that her feelings for Jason were more intense than before. Jason told DeAnna that she and Ty (his son) were the "two most important subjects" in his life. DeAnna was touched and said that she was speechless and that "everything happens for a reason". Is Jason the one? When it came time to read the invitation from Chris Harrison for the fantasy suite, Jason was so excited that he didn't finish reading the note. He tossed it and they jumped up to leave. Once they were in the suite, Jason gave DeAnna a sand dollar necklace and thanked her for teaching him that he could fall in love again.
- The final date was with Jesse. They rode horses on the beach and in the ocean, where they kissed while on horseback. Later, Jesse held DeAnna in the ocean. They were very comfortable with each other and DeAnna confessed that Jesse made her laugh and she liked that. At dinner, they discussed when DeAnna wanted to have children and if DeAnna would be able to live three months a year in a cold place where Jesse could snowboard. DeAnna asked him what he would do when there was no more snowboarding. He said that he would like to be a sports agent or manager. Jesse admitted that he was falling in love with DeAnna but he was scared to death. Jesse read the note that invited him to the fantasy suite to stay with DeAnna and he told her that he didn't think he could stay with her alone until he met her father. She was stunned and asked if he was "for real". He burst out laughing and told her that he was just kidding and thought she would never ask. They went to the suite and had a romantic time together.
- The rose ceremony was traumatic for DeAnna. She gave roses to Jesse and Jason and sent Jeremy home. She admitted to Jeremy that she didn't want to confuse their bond with love. Jeremy was heartbroken.
Season 4: The Men Tell All, Monday, June 30, 2008
- YouTube Video: Graham-DeAnna Tells All (Time 8:13)
-
- All of the bachelors were in the studio to share their feelings about DeAnna and their time on the show. In flash backs, the men talked about their dislike of Jeremy and he ended up talking to Chris Harrison in the hot seat. The guys were jealous of him and they thought that he was condescending, but Ron ended up saying to Jeremy that they wanted him to be a part of the group. Jeremy spoke about the devastation he felt when he realized that he was not going to get a rose. He admitted that he was absolutely in love with DeAnna and he might get sweaty palms and run off the stage when DeAnna joined them on the show. Next on the hot seat was Graham. He was defensive and still believed that he had done all that he could to build a relationship with DeAnna. Chris Harrison hammered the nail in by telling Graham that when DeAnna asked him to kiss her and Graham rejected her, that was not the time to make a statement. The audience agreed. He then went on to say how much he gave of himself to let DeAnna meet his family and visit their home, but she compared him unfairly to the other men. Jenny from the audience asked Graham what his letter to DeAnna said. All he would admit was that he told DeAnna in the letter how he felt about her and that if she read the letter, she would be touched by the things he said.
- DeAnna joined the show and Chris Harrison gave Jeremy the chance to ask DeAnna a question. Jeremy wanted to know when DeAnna knew that he was not the one. She replied that it was after the final two dates with Jesse and Jason...she knew he was everything that she wanted on paper, but her heart did not follow that knowledge. DeAnna was asked if she could explain what happened with Graham. She admitted that he was the one she couldn't have. She said that when she sent him home she second guessed her decision but that she didn't anymore and "everything happens for a reason." Wow, he did not like that and chastised her for her "harsh comment." DeAnna told him that she didn't like how he was trying to act like the relationship didn't matter. He became somewhat nicer and admitted that he didn't want to argue with her and that it was harder than he thought it would be.
- DeAnna announced that she is happy, in love and engaged to be married.
- I don't know how you feel, but next week is going to be a tough show to watch...see you then.

- The men started out by sharing their feelings for DeAnna and they were both totally taken with her. DeAnna took them to her home in Newnan, Georgia to visit her father Greg, her sister Chrissy and her brother Tom. You could tell that they were not as willing to welcome the men on this visit. They had warmly embraced Brad Womack previously on The Bachelor, only to see DeAnna end up broken-hearted, and they were afraid that would happen again. Jason arrived first carrying flowers and gifts. The grilling began, but Jason handled it like a pro. He shared with DeAnna's family that he has two brothers, that he had been married for several years and his ex-wife had left him for a new relationship, and he has a three-year-old son named Ty. (Check out the Fans of Reality TV blog on Jason Mesnik's page to see photos from his previous wedding.) He went on to tell DeAnna's family that he raised his son by himself and that Ty is one of the two best things in his life. (DeAnna being the other, of course.) Her father voiced his concern that DeAnna wasn't ready to jump into a ready-made family. Jason shared a picture of Ty and Chrissy asked him to join her alone for a chat. Meanwhile, Tom asked DeAnna what made her say WOW about Jason. (Were you a little concerned when her reply was basically that she knew he was ready for marriage and wanted a family and that he was good with his son? ...that answer raised some questions in my mind). Chrissy got to the heart of the matter by asking if Jason loved DeAnna enough to take care of her and not leave her when times got tough. Jason admitted that he loved DeAnna and had never felt this way about anyone including his first wife. Jason then approached DeAnna's father Greg and asked for his permission to propose to her. Greg replied that no one (Brad Womack?) had ever asked him that question before and if DeAnna chose Jason, he would have Greg's blessing. Greg was impressed by Jason and said that he would fit right in with the family.
- DeAnna was nervous and tried to prepare her family for Jesse's arrival. She admitted that Jesse was totally different than Jason. She revealed to them that she would never in a million years have pictured herself with Jesse. (I have to admit that he captured my heart when he carried DeAnna down the mountain on his shoulders...check out his profile page to see how famous he is in the world of snowboarding).
- Jesse arrived and was very nervous. Greg immediately asked Jesse what he would do when he could no longer snowboard competitively. I never did catch what Jesse said but he told DeAnna earlier that he wanted to be a sports agent or manager. Poor Jesse...he stated in the confessional that he knew fathers wanted their daughters to marry doctors and lawyers. Jesse and Greg went to speak alone and Jesse confided, when asked, that he had previously been involved in a serious relationship and they had lived together for two years, but had grown apart. Greg told Jesse that if he ended up with DeAnna that he expected to have frequent visits. Meanwhile, Chrissy appeared to be unsure of DeAnna's reasons for being with Jesse and her questions showed her concern. The family did not appear to accept Jesse and DeAnna looked unhappy about that. Although Jesse visited for three hours, we were shown very little of his time with them. (Was that to throw us off?) DeAnna's dad then told her that Jesse said he loved her, but not with the intensity that Jason said it. He also told her that Jesse did not ask if he could marry DeAnna and he wondered if Jesse was in the same place emotionally as she was.
- The following day, the guys both met DeAnna's extended family which included her uncle Plutarch, Aunt Tina, her grandmother Yaya (Lillian), grandfather Papoo (Thomas) and her sister-in-law Crystal. Jesse arrived first with a beautiful Hydrangea and was surprised when Jason showed up. Jesse knew he had to step up or he would lose DeAnna. He told the whole group that it was very hard to do the show, but DeAnna was worth it...his voice got lower and softer when he admitted that he could see himself spending his whole life with her. Jason said he was going to be the final man, but Jesse said they would have to agree to disagree. Later at dinner, Jason sat next to DeAnna with his hand on her leg while Jesse taught Yaya and Papoo hand greetings. Jason went off with her grandparents and asked for pointers on how to make a relationship last. He wowed Yaya and she told him that he was her choice. Papoo said that DeAnna had to follow her heart. Meanwhile, Jesse was talking with Crystal and Chrissy and told them that he cried twice last week when he thought about DeAnna because he was so into her and just wants to be with her. The ladies encouraged Jesse to be himself and "rock it out." Jesse took Greg aside and told him that he had never been in love before DeAnna and if she chose him, he wanted Greg's blessing to propose to her. Jesse shared that when his father met DeAnna, he gave Jesse his "stamp of approval" and he was appreciative of that and he wanted the same thing from Greg. Greg gave Jesse his blessing and they hugged. Just like a father, Greg told Jesse that he he wanted him to cut his hair. It was time for the guys to leave and Jesse tricked Jason into riding in the first limo so that he could hug DeAnna last. I loved that!
- Back in the Bahamas DeAnna met with Jeremy, at his request, to give him clarity on why she let him go. Jeremy said he didn't blame her for asking him to leave and he knew that he had been guarded with her. She admitted that she respected him too much to lead him on and drag it out until the last day...she was just not in love with him. Jeremy thanked her and he left. That was torturous to watch but kind of DeAnna to help Jeremy get closure on the situation.
- Jesse and DeAnna flew to a secluded island for the day and took a boat back to the mainland. Back at the hotel, Jesse gave her a photo album with sweet words to go with the pictures and told DeAnna he loved her.
- Jason and DeAnna took a scuba diving trip to dive with sharks. They went back to the hotel and Jason gave her a board game that reenacted their prior dates and he told her he loved her.
- DeAnna, Jesse and Jason spent the day getting ready for the final rose ceremony and it is hard to put into words the emotion of the day, because for the first time, I like both men and hate to see one hurt. Jeremy arrived first. Uh-oh, If you have watched the series for any length of time, you know that whoever arrives first is the one going home. Jason got down on his knee to propose and she said "No, I can't." DeAnna told him that she was in love with someone else. They hugged and she cried. Jason told her that he would miss her. He was in total shock. He said that the only "for sure thing in his life" was his little boy.
- DeAnna exclaimed that she could not live without Jesse, she could see a life of love and excitement with him and he is the man of her dreams. Jesse was completely nervous, but confident, and stated that DeAnna was his soul mate. "Forever" was the word that always popped into his mind when he thought of her. Jesse got down on his knee and proposed to DeAnna. She accepted and told him that she had been waiting to say that she loved him. DeAnna gave him the final rose and he exclaimed that he had waited FOREVER to get that rose.
- Jesse won DeAnna's heart!!!!!!!!
Season 4: After The Final Rose, July 7, 2008
- Jason was back in the studio confessing his love for DeAnna. He spoke of the last date and his time in the Bahamas and how wonderful it was. He admitted that he was shocked that DeAnna let him get down on his knee and wished she hadn't let it go that far. The audience was touched when Jason shared how DeAnna rubbed Ty's head to get him to stop fussing one night and actually put him to sleep. Jason said that DeAnna was one in a million and even Chris Harrison was touched. DeAnna came out to meet again with Jason for the first time since the rose ceremony. She apologized for hurting him like she had been hurt by Brad Womack. He asked "when did you know?" She told him that she knew that morning that Jesse was the one. She admitted that Jason made her feel safe and loved. Jason asked her how she could have let him get down on his knee and she replied that it all happened so fast and she was caught up in the moment. She admitted that she felt more compassion for Womack now that she had experienced the other side of the proposal. Jason told DeAnna that he noticed while watching the show, that DeAnna never looked at him the way she looked at Jesse or Graham. Jason was a gentleman and told DeAnna that Jesse was a great guy and he was happy for her. The crowd went crazy when Jason said that he learned that he could love again and that it really felt good. The audience called out that they loved him and applauded. He said his first proposal kind of worked out and he got a beautiful son. The second time he proposed, it didn't work out at all, but the third time could be the charm. (I'll bet anything that Jason will be asked to be an upcoming bachelor, anyone agree?)
- Matt and Shayne..Woo hoo!! Well, we got to see their proposal again and Matt admitted that he was taken by Shayne the moment she exited from the limo. Matt moved to the United States to be close to her. Shayne revealed that Matt was a terrible driver and he had almost gotten her killed five times, due to his poor driving habits. Matt said he has been known to drive the wrong way on the street. Chris dove right in and asked about the rumors that they have broken up. Shayne denied the rumors and said that Matt didn't mind if she went out with her old friends and they were the people with whom she had been seen. The next rumor was that Matt did the show in order to get his green card. Matt totally denied that and thought it was quite funny.
- DeAnna returned and showed Chris Harrison her ring. She admitted that it felt great to be able to wear her ring, be in love and be engaged. She confessed that she initially judged Jesse's long hair, crazy jacket and crazy tennis shoes, but the moment she sat down to talk with him, she realized that he was one of the best men that she had ever met in her life. He was the only man she believed she couldn't live without him being in her life. When Jesse entered the room, he jumped over the couch to kiss DeAnna. He confessed that he always wanted a great relationship like the one his parents had. He revealed that he always felt that he was going to live a great life, have a ton of fun and never meet his soul mate. He realized after meeting DeAnna that he could have a relationship like theirs. The two of them couldn't stop kissing, but did stop long enough to hug their families. They announced that they had set a wedding date of May 9, 2009 and were going to marry in the Bahamas where they fell in love. Harrison and ABC surprised them with a gift of a honeymoon trip to Greece.
- That was an exciting emotional journey and I think we will hear more from DeAnna and Jesse. Join me next season for the Bachelor...I look forward to seeing you then!
