The First Thanksgiving
In 1621 the pilgrims that traveled to the New World on the Mayflower gave thanks for their first bountiful harvest. They celebrated by feasting with their Native American neighbors, the Wampanoag Indians. This "thanks giving" feast became the premise for the popular Thanksgiving holiday celebrated in America today.1
