Let's have some pie, pumpkin
Although the Pilgrims didn't likely eat pumpkin pie with the Indians during the first Thanksgiving feast, today it is considered a must-have dessert option for millions of worshipers. For centuries, the pumpkin pie concept was that the ingredients were contained within the shell of a pumpkin. When the advent of the conventional oven came into being, the pies were then baked within a cookie-based shell. Pumpkin Pie is as much a tradition on Thanksgiving as cranberry sauce, Turkey, and mashed potatoes.
