Guide Note:The Texas-Arlington Mavericks Men's Basketball team is the basketball team for the University of Texas at Arlington. The Mavericks play in the Southland Conference. This is the first time that they have appeared in the NCAA tournament. The last time that the Mavericks almost won the SLC tournament was when Bill Washington hit a 3 pointer, but was waved off by officials during the 1998 championship game.
