Superheroes

Guide Note:

Dominant in American comic books, superheroes are fictional characters with extraordinary skills, powers and/or weapons who have dedicated their lives to saving and protecting the common man from evil. Most superheroes were created through some sort of tragic accident that, in turn, shapes their character and crusade. Their adventures, detailed in comic books, movies, television, cartoons, and radio programs, are a blend of the fantasy, science fiction, and crime drama genres. Although some work in teams, such as The Fantastic Four and the X-men, most live a necessarily solitary existence to protect their loved ones from their many enemies. Some of the more well-known superheroes include: Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Captain America, Wolverine, The Hulk and Spiderman
