Super Smash Bros Brawl Unlockable Characters

Guide Note: There are 16 Unlockable Characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii. The Secret Characters include favorites from other games such as Ganondorf, Snake (from Metal Gear) and Sonic the Hedgehog. Unlocking Characters: The fastest way to unlock most of the characters is to successfully complete Subspace Emissary. All characters are also unlocked by playing 450 versus matches.

1. Stage Choice: Random
2. Select Stamina, Flower, and Fast on Special Brawl
3. Set the computer's health to 1

The flower kills the computer in seconds. Play 450 versus matches. Characters can also be individually unlocked by meeting the following specific criteria, or completing a set number of matches.

1. Ness: Meet in Classic mode, reflect 10 projectiles, recruit in Subspace, 5 Brawl matches
2. Marth: Defeat in Classic mode, recruit in Subspace, 10 Brawl matches
3. Luigi: Win Classic mode without using a "continue," recruit in Subspace, 22 Brawl matches
4. Falco: Win the 100-man brawl, recruit in Subspace, 50 Brawl matches
5. Captain Falcon: Win Classic mode on Normal difficulty or greater in less than 12 minutes and defeat him, 70 Brawl matches
6. Lucario: Win Target Smash!! mode on all difficulty levels, or defeat in Subspace with Meta Knight, 100 Brawl matches
7. Snake: 15 matches on Shadow Moses Island, 130 Brawl matches
8. R.O.B.: Collect 250 Trophies, recruit in Subspace, 160 Brawl matches
9. Ganondorf: Win Classic mode on "hard" with Link or Zelda, recruit in Subspace by collecting the Link and Zelda Trophies with Kirby, 200 Brawl matches
10. Mr. Game & Watch: Win Target Smash!! mode with 30 different characters, recruit in Subspace, 250 Brawl matches
11. Sonic: Complete Subspace Emissary, win Classic mode with 10 characters, 300 Brawl matches
12. Jigglypuff: Win 20 Event Matches after defeating Subspace Emissary, recruit in Subspace Emissary on Swamp level (find the hidden door over the river in the cannon area after the Hammer Bros. fight), 350 Brawl matches
13. Toon Link: Win Classic mode with Link after completing Subspace Emissary, go to the Forest level and a new door will appear after you defeat Diddy Kong, 400 Brawl matches
14. Wolf: Go to the Ruins stage after completing the Subspace Emissary and enter the second door at the bottom of the moving platform, 450 Brawl matches
15. Zero Suit Samus: Select Samus; press and hold the following button combinations prior to the match:
    1. Gamecube: R button and press Start
    2. Classic controller: R button and press Plus
    3. Wii Remote with Nunchuk: Z button and press Plus
    4. Wii Remote: Minus (-) button and press Plus
16. Sheik: Select Samus; press and hold the following button combinations prior to the match:
    1. Wii Remote with Nunchuk: A button
    2. Wii Remote: 2 button
    3. Gamecube: A button
    4. Classic controller: A button.
