How They Got There
The Raiders, under Head Coach John Madden, won 13 of 14 regular season games, earning them the #1 seed in the playoffs. They defeated the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers to clinch the AFC championship and reach the Super Bowl.
The Vikings finished the regular season with a 11-2-1 record also earning a #1 seed in the post season. They went on to defeat the Washington Redskins and Los Angeles Rams to take the NFC title and head to the Super Bowl.
