- July 19, 2008: Moon's helicopter crashes in South Korea
Helicopter Crash
On Saturday, July 19, 2008, a helicopter carrying Reverend Sun Myung Moon and 15 other passengers crashed in the mountains of South Korea. Witnesses report that the helicopter burst into flames after hitting the ground.2
Reverend Moon and 13 others were injured including his wife. The accident occurred in Gapyeong, South Korea, which is approximately 37 miles to the north and east of Seoul.2
