The pieces are set in the closest 40 spaces facing to the player and away from the opponents so that the rank is unknown. Each piece has a rank or hierarchical value so that when one piece attacks depending on the rank of the other piece, one will be triumphant and take the spot, or if they are matched they will both be removed from the board.
Game Pieces
A Spy, marked S, kills anything it attacks except a bomb, but will be removed if any piece attacks it. Each player has one Spy.
A Marshal, ranked 10, will win over anything that it attaches except a bomb. If attacked by a spy the marshal is removed. Each player has one Marshal.
The General is ranked nine, each player has one. Colonels are ranked eight and their are two per player. There are three Majors they rank seven. There are four each of Captains, Lieutenants and Sergeants, which rank six, five and four respectively.
Minors are ranked three. They are the only piece that can defuse a bomb. Each player has five of these pieces.
Scouts are ranked two. These pieces can move as many open spaces as available in one turn but this will reveal to the other player its rank, so use cautiously. There are eight Scouts per player.
There are also six bombs, which can't move but will win if anything attacks them, with the exception of Miners.
The flag is the most important piece. It has no capabilities and can't move, but if captured the game is lost.
