Steve Jobs Blu-ray
Steve Jobs' stance on Blu-ray was clarified at the Apple MacBook Event on October 14, 2008. Despite Apple's inclusion on the Blu-ray Disc Association Board of Directors in 2005, Jobs claims that Blu-ray is "a bag of hurt" and says that, while the movie quality is great, "(...) the licensing of the tech is so complex, we're waiting till things settle down and Blu-ray takes off in the marketplace before we burden our customers with the cost of the licensing and the cost of the drives."1 2 3
