Steve Fossett Remains
On October 30, 2008, bones and a drivers license were found near a site where the wrecked plane of Steve Fossett was found.1 The remains, which were found about a half a mile from the crash site, will need to undergo DNA testing before it can be confirmed that they belong to Fossett. Fossett's crash site was discovered on October 2, 2008, but little evidence of remains was found at the site.2

ID and Clothing Found
Hikers found ID and a sweatshirt possibly belonging to Fossett on October 1, 2008, in a remote area of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. No sign of Fossett's remains or a crash site was apparent at that time.5
