Stephen Curry

Guide Note: Sophomore Stephen Curry is the starting shooting guard for the Davidson College Wildcats. Curry is the son of former NBA player Dell Curry.

Curry was instrumental in the Wildcat's 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament run. Curry helped the Wildcats to their first playoff win since 1969, beating the seventh seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs 82-76. They continued to win their next game, 74-70 over the second seeded Goergetown Hoyas, finally reaching the Midwest Regional Semifinals, where they fell to the Wisconsin Badgers 73-56. After the loss, Curry announced that he would return to Davidson next season, commenting that he was not ready to join the NBA.
