South China Flooding
Torrential downpours in June 2008 have caused flooding in Southern China, forcing the evacuation of over one million people. There are 55 confirmed deaths with at least another ten missing. Approximately 141,000 houses have been damaged or destroyed.1

Embankment Bursting
The heavy rain caused a 40 meter crack in an embankment located in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. After the Xijiang River burst through the embankment, over 3,000 people were evacuated.
