Maxi is one of several playable characters in Soul Calibur IV, a fighting game developed by Project Soul for the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles.
First appearing in Soul Calibur, Maxi is a pirate ship captain from the Ryukyu Kingdom of Japan. While docked in an Indian port, Maxi left the ship in the hands of his sworn brother Kyam. Upon his return, he found the ship under attack by Astaroth and a flock of golem and lizard-like creatures. Kyam and most of the crew were murdered. As a result, Maxi has sworn revenge on Astaroth and is in search of the Soul Edge to help him exact vengeance.
