Sonya Curry

Guide Note: Sonya Curry is the mother of Davidson College Wildcats starting point guard Stephen Curry. Many in the Charlotte, NC area consider Curry Davidson's biggest fan. Curry and her husband, Dell, who played for 16 seasons in the NBA, have been known to discuss all career strategies closely with their son.

The Davidson Wildcats Men's Basketball team made school history in the 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, winning their first NCAA tournament game since 1969 and falling just short of making it to the Final Four. Shortly after their tournament loss, Stephen Curry announced he was not yet ready for the NBA and would return to Davidson for his junior year.
