Viral Campaign

Raw Tea is widely regarded for its award winning online viral ad campaign.1The YouTube video alone has been viewed over four million times.2 The videos feature a group of three white, upper class rappers from Cape Cod. The video is a parody of traditional Rap stars and their music, which usually features tales of urban street wise minorities hardened by a life of poverty, and being surrounded by the criminal element. The irony is that the Raw Tea rappers, referred to as P-Unit are privileged white, upper class, college graduates, who have no concept of a rough life, much less are realistically capable of performing good rap music. A new ad campaign features a west side vs. east side rap battle. The west side represents California, Hollywood, new money, while east side represents WASP Cape Cod old money.
