Sixx:AM

Sixx:AM is the current project of Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx. They were formed after Nikki wanted to put music to his book "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Musician. Though they have stated from the beginning that they never planned to tour, they recently joined Motley Crue's Cruefest tour.

The Heroin Diaries History Sixx:AM's start all began with Nikki Sixx and his history with drug use and abuse. It contains 432 pages of diary entries from Christmas of 1986 through Christmas 1987. In it, he describes living with heroin addiction, paranoia and depression and his recovery from all three. The book is laiden with lyrics, random thoughts, black and white photos and artwork. The book reached the #7 spot on The New York Times Book Review bestseller list for a hardcover. It was released after The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack. 25% of all profits made will be donated to Sixx's charity Running Wild In The Night.

The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack was written as a companion album to Nikki Sixx's 2007 book "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star". The first single "Life Is Beautiful" appeared on Sixx's MySpace page and the momentum for the band grew rapidly after that. It debuted at the #26 spot on Billboard Magazine's rock single chart before peaking at #2 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Released August 21, 2007, it contains 13 tracks. One for each chapter of the book.
