Simon Pegg as Scotty
Comedy actor Simon Pegg will play the role of Scotty in the J.J. Abrams-helmed Star Trek XI. Pegg is British and co-wrote cult British TV comedy series Spaced. He successfully moved into writing and acting in feature films, most recently Hot Fuzz. Actor James Doohan originated the character of Scotty in the 1966 Star Trek series and subsequent movies.
