The Shire Horse is a large draft horse originally bred in England. It descends from the medieval Great Horse, whose muscular body was used for pulling ale from breweries, as well as for farming.¹

About Drum Horses

A drum horse is a combination of a shire, Clydesdale or gypsy horse. The American Drum Horse Association's purpose for breeding is to develop a new heavy horse who has performance ability, intelligence and a gentle nature. According to the association, there are few mature drum horses available in the U.S. and those that become bred are certified as Foundation Horses. Only those horses that meet the standards can be approved as official drum horses.³
