Sherlock Holmes
Fictional detective Sherlock Holmes was made famous in four novels and fifty-six short stories including The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Hound of the Baskervilles and more. His character has appeared in comics, plays, film and television. Robert Downey Jr. portrays the detective in Guy Ritchie's 2008 film a about the famous sleuth.

Elementary?
The signature phrase "Elementary, my dear Watson" was not printed in any Sherlock Holmes book. Instead, it was in the 1929 film The Return of Sherlock Holmes. The quote may have been popularized by the use of it in The New York Times review of the film.2
