Shelley Malil

Shelley Malil is an Indian-American actor who played the role of "Haziz" in the 2005 comedy film The 40 Year Old Virgin. Malil has also appeared in several television shows, including The West Wing, Scrubs and NYPD Blue.

On August 11, 2008, Malil was arrested on suspicion of repeatedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend, Kendra Beebe, in an attack that took place at her home in San Marcos, California, on Sunday, August 10. Malil has been charged with attempted murder, burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.^{1 2} Beebe survived the attack, but suffered serious injuries to her lungs and throat.²

Shelley Malil Arrested

On August 10, 2008, Malil allegedly found his ex-girlfriend, Kendra Beebe, in her backyard with another man. Malil is said to have grabbed a knife and stabbed the woman as many as 20 times. According to police, Malil also stabbed the woman's male friend in the hand as he tried to stop the attack. A neighbor of the victim claims he saw Malil flee the scene after the stabbing. Malil was arrested the following evening, on August 11, at a train station.
