History

Ward and Deschanel first collaborated in 2006 for the soundtrack for the film The Go Getter. Ward was impressed with Deschanel's voice and after she sent him demo's she had recorded he asked if she would like to go into a studio and record the songs properly. The result of the sessions was Volume One, their debut album released on Merge Records in 2008.
