Shannon Rodrick
Shannon Rodrick is the alleged victim of
The Game in a game of
pro-am basketball gone awry. On March 14th, 2008, Rodrick filed a civil suit based on his claim that the famous rapper assaulted him in February, 2007, on the basketball courts of a South Central Los Angeles youth center. Rodrick is suing The Game on counts of assault and battery, violation of civil rights and negligence.
During the altercation, The Game allegedly punched Rodrick, threatened him with a weapon and was overheard saying, "I am going to blast this fool."
The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, was already convicted in a criminal court case stemming from the same incident—and has served eight days of the resulting 60 day sentence. He was released early from LA County Jail on March 10, 2008, as a result of jail overcrowding.
