Sex and the City Death
In an interview at the Creation Nation comedy show on April 15, 2008, Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon revealed that a character will die in Sex and the City: The Movie, out in theaters on May 30, 2008.
Who could it be?
Nixon refused to reveal the marked character, but blogs and fans have made speculations, most commonly Samantha and Mr. Big. The obvious choice is Samantha, based on her breast cancer diagnosis in the show's final season.
New York Magazine's Vulture blog presumes that Big will die in order to spark the film's second act and give Carrie an active role in pursuing her future.
Less popular theories
One New York Magazine columnist thinks that Charlotte will die, as she has always been unessential to the main story line. Most screenwriting professors would tend to dismiss this theory, arguing that it would be pointless to kill a character that did not have a pertinent role in the film.
Mahalo predictions
As a sequel to the first Sex and the City film is already in the works, it is likely that none of the main characters will be killed.
