Serbia Election 2008

In 2008, Serbia held its first presidential election since it separated from Montenegro in 2006. The first round of elections were held on January 20, 2008. Out of nine candidates, Tomislav Nikolić and Boris Tadić advanced into the next round. The run-off elections took place on February 3, 2008, and Boris Tadić won by a margin of less than 3%.¹ Serbia also held legislative elections later in 2008.
