- 2005: Hurricane Rita strikes the gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana dampening the rebuilding efforts of the earlier Hurricane Katrina disaster.
- 2002: Tony Blair tells the United Kingdom Parliament that Saddam Hussein is building an arsenal of Weapons of Mass Destruction and that Hussein is planning on using them.
