Attractions
One of the most popular, and well-known attractions in Seattle is the Space Needle. It has been called the "Eiffel Tower" of Seattle, taking visitors 520 feet above land to an observation deck, which rotates 360 degrees. While in the Space Needle, enjoy lunch at the SkyCity Restaurant. Pike's Place Market is another well-known attraction, featuring 200 businesses open year-round. It was founded in 1907 and has become the home of many craftsman, farmers and street performers. Other attractions in the area include ferries, the Seattle Aquarium, the Seattle Waterfront, Woodland Park Zoo and Bill Speidel's Underground Tour.
Sporting Events
While in Seattle, why not enjoy a professional sporting event. They are home to the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle SuperSonics, Seattle Mariners and Seattle Sounders soccer.
Seattle SuperSonics
The SuperSonics joined the National Basketball Association in 1967, They play at KeyArena on the Seattle Center campus, November through April.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks joined the National Football League as an expansion team in 1976. They currently play at the Qwest Field, September through December.
Seattle Mariners
The Mariners played their first game with the American Baseball League in 1977. They play at the Safeco Field, April through September.
Seattle Sounders
The Seattle Sounders began with the North American Soccer League in 1974. They currently play at the Qwest Field, April through September.
