The Seattle Storm are a women's professional basketball team, competing in the Western Conference of the WNBA. The Storm won the WNBA Championship in 2004.

History

Since 2002, the Storm's star player has been Sue Bird, drafted from the University of Connecticut as their point guard. Bird and Australian Lauren Jackson are considered the Storm's 1-2 punch.¹ The team was swept in 2002 by the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA finals but won the WNBA championship in 2004.²

Franchise Statistics

Though the Storm have finished with positive records for seven consecutive seasons, their all-time record has remained under .500, due to their initial two seasons in which they won only 16 total games.

WNBA series are played in a Best-of-3 format, and the Storm won the 2004 NBA finals with only two losses on their way to defeating the Connecticut Sun.²
