Los Angeles singer-songwriter Alex Brown Church performs under the name Sea Wolf with a rotating group of musicians. Their first album, Leaves in the River, was released in September of 2007.

Career Overview

After graduating from film school at New York University, Church moved back to his native California and formed the band Irving in 1998. While recording with that band, Church would frequently write songs that did not fit Irving's throwback, pop-oriented sound, and sometimes recorded them himself at home.

In 2003, Church began performing some of these songs with various different musicians throughout Los Angeles, and in 2005, he recorded some of the songs with Irving's regular producer, Phil Ek. In 2007, he signed to Dangerbird Records and released an EP, Get to the River Before it Runs Too Low, and the Sea Wolf debut full-length, Leaves in the River.

The current band's line-up is thought to be at least semi-permanent, and performed on the tour in support of the first album.
