Early Years

Parker began his career with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League in 1995. The following year he was drafted 63rd overall in the 1996 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils. Parker was however unable to reach a contract with the Devils and continued to play in the WHL. He re-entered the draft in 1998, where he was selected 20th overall by the Colorado Avalanche. Parker made his NHL debut with the Avalanche in 1998, splitting his first two professional seasons between the NHL and the American Hockey League.

Early Years

Parker earned a full roster spot with the Avalanche in 2000, helping the team win the Stanley Cup Championship the following year. On June 21, 2003, Parker was traded to the San Jose Sharks. Parker did not play during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout then went on to miss the majority of the 2005-06 season due to a head injury. On February 27, 2007, Parker was traded back to the Avalanche, where he has since continued to be a very physical player for the team.
