Scott Olsen

After earning All-Conference baseball honors while in high school in Crystal Lake, Illinois, Olsen was drafted in the 2002 MLB Draft by the Marlins. He was placed in the minor leagues for three years, before making his MLB debut on June 25, 2005. Olsen played only five games that season, filling in for the injured Josh Beckett. In 2006 Olsen saw more action, playing in 32 games. He also caused a stir during a July 2006 game where he was involved in a altercation with third baseman Miguel Cabrera. Two months later he made news again, when publicly stating his dislike of the rival Philadelphia Phillies team.

His struggles with the team continued the following year when in June 2007 he received a two game suspension for insubordination after a heated argument during a game with pitcher Sergio Mitre. Shortly after serving his suspension, Olsen was arrested in Aventura, Florida. He was originally pulled over for a simple speeding violation, however Olsen fled the scene and a chase occurred. Olsen was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest and fleeing and eluding a police officer. Fast Facts:
