Sarah Palin Katie Couric
In a series of interviews aired on the CBS Evening News, CBS anchor Katie Couric interviewed Sarah Palin. The Republican vice-presidential nominee answered questions about a wide variety of issues in the course of the interviews and stoked controversy with what many felt were shaky and uninformed answers to questions of national importance such as the mortgage bailout bill and U.S. foreign policy towards Russia and Pakistan.1 Palin later said in a Fox News interview after the October 3 vice-presidential debate that she was "annoyed" by Couric's questions.2
