Roger Tsien
Roger Tsien is a scientist at the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla.
Some predict Tsien will be the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Most recipients will be announced on October 6, 2008. Tsien's research includes the study of the chemical that makes jellyfish glow green.1

Tsien's Research
In his research, Tsien used a molecule from jellyfish of fluorescent protein and manipulated it to emit other colors. The protein can be attached to genes as a research method, allowing scientists so see when the gene is activated or when proteins are expressed.3
