Roberta McCain
Roberta McCain is the mother of U.S. Senator, and presidential candidate, John McCain. The elder McCain has a reputation for being outspoken, sometimes to a fault. During John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, she was quoted both criticizing the conservative "base" of the Republican Party, and saying that the campaign's anti-Obama "Celebrity" ad was "kinda stupid."1 According to reports, the GOP eventually clamped down: "They've got me muzzled" she told a reporter on the week of the 2008 Republican Convention.1
