Richard Butler

CBS photojournalist Richard Butler and his Iraqi interpreter were kidnapped from their hotel in Basra, Iraq on February 10, 2008. He was released amid fighting in Iraq in April 13, 2008.

On April 14, the Iraqi Defense Ministry announced an Iraqi army operation had recovered Butler. He was found with a sack over his head and is apparently in good health. The rescue came at the same time of attacks on U.S. military operations by rocket-propelled grenades. Fast Facts:
