Rashean Mathis

Football Career
Prior to playing in the NFL, Mathis played for the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, a Division I-AA team in the NCAA. He recorded 200 tackles and 31 interceptions over four seasons, setting a league record for career interceptions. Following school, Mathis was selected in the second round, 39th overall, in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.2
He joined the Jaguars in 2003 for his professional debut, playing in all 16 regular season games. Mathis continued as a starter for the Jaguars in the year since, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2006. In 2007, Mathis was limited to only the first 12 games of the season after suffering a groin injury.2
