Randy Robitaille

Randy Robitaille is a Canadian professional hockey player currently playing for the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League.

Robitaille did not enter the League through the NHL Entry Draft, but signed as a free agent with the Boston Bruins after playing for the Miami University Redskins for two years. He played a handful of games with the Bruins' over the next two seasons, but spent most of his time with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

NHL Career

Robitaille was traded to the Nashville Predators in 1999 and became a full time NHL player in the 1999-2000 season. After two seasons with the Predators, he signed with the Los Angeles Kings in the 2001 off season. He played only 18 games with the Kings before they traded him to the Pittsburgh Penguins. After another part season with the Penguins, Robitaille was traded to the New York Islanders for the last ten games of the 2002-2003 season.

During the off season, Robitaille signed on as a free agent for a season with the Atlanta Thrashers. He played in the Swiss Elite League during the locked out 2004-2005 season, then joined the Minnesota Wild for the following season. He recorded a career high of 40 points in 67 games with the Wild during the 2005-2006 season, after which he was again a free agent.

Robitaille signed with the Philadelphia Flyers in the off season and played 28 games with them before they traded him to the New York Islanders for the remainder of the year. Again a free agent, Robitaille remained unsigned at the outset of the 2007-2008 season, so he traveled to Russia to play for the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team. He resigned shortly thereafter and signed on to play the remainder of the season with the Ottawa Senators in October 2007.
