Plot Summary
James Robert Kennedy is called "Radio" because of a vintage radio he carries with him all the time. We he meets Coach Harold Jones, he can't read, write, or speak, but he is enthralled with the high school football team. Jones begins giving him tasks to help out with the team, and begins to mentor Radio. Their relationship deepens, with Jones at one point stating that "we're not the ones been teaching Radio--Radio's the one's been teaching us."2
