Pussycat Dolls are a Los Angeles based all-female music group, as well as a parallel burlesque ensemble, that performs at Caeser's Palace, in Las Vegas. The group is made of members Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt. Until recently Carmit Bachar was a part of the group. Other former members of the group include Carmen Electra, Cyia Battan, Staci Flood and Etty Lau Farrell.
Reportedly, founder Robin Antin began exploring the idea of forming a modern day burlesque group with her friend ,Christina Applegate, in 1993. The group gave their first performance in 1995. The girls of the group, along with Applegate, Christina Aguilera and Carmen Electra, were featured on the cover of Maxim Magazine, in 2002. The public's interest in the group grew and music producers Jimmy Iovine and Ron Fair signed them to Interscope Records.
The group released their debut, PCD, in 2005. It debuted at five on the Billboard 200.
The Pussycat Dolls have released the following hit singles "Sway," "Don't Cha," "Stickwitu," "Beep," "Buttons," "I Don't Need a Man" and "Wait a Minute."
