Prince of Persia is an action-adventure game by Ubisoft Montreal for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Rather than a continuation of the game's previous releases, it is a "reboot" of the franchise with a new storyline and art style.¹ The Nintendo DS version of this game is Prince of Persia: The Fallen King.

Play as the Prince of Persia, a nomadic thief who is masquerading as a prince. During a journey, he is swept into a desert sandstorm and finds himself within a walled garden. He travels to the center of the garden with Elika, a girl he finds wandering in the garden. Together they find the Tree of Life. Upon their arrival, the tree is destroyed, releasing Ahriman, the god of darkness. The Prince and Elika fight to reclaim the cities lost to Ahriman and his forces.^{2 3}

Much of the game revolves around the mechanics of fighting and acrobatics. The Prince carries a claw that is used for fighting, in addition to climbing and sliding down walls. He also wields a long sword as his main weapon. Included in combat is a weapon combo system, in which the player may stack attacks to perform specific moves. Elika is also a fighter and helps the Prince defeat enemies.³
