Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Movie

Based on the popular video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Movie is currently in production. Filming is taking place in Morocco and some parts will be filmed in England, in the studio. The film is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, John August, Jordan Mechner, Chad Oman, and Mike Stenson. Mike Newell will be directing. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Movie was written by Jordan Mechner. The film is set to be released theatrically in June-July 2009, but there is no solid date as of yet. The film might not be released until late summer 2009.

The storyline will be loosely based on the video game. Many of the elements will be taken from the game itself but the story will be a bit different. It takes place in medieval Persia, 1,300 years ago. The Prince and Princes will team up to stop a sandstorm from being unleashed which may destroy the entire world. The Prince is tricked into unleashing the sands from the hourglass and must return it using the Dagger of Time. As of right now, this plot may not be entirely accurate and could possibly change.

Gemma Arterton will play the role of Princess Farah and David Zandi will play the role of the Prince of Persia. David Zandi is actually a Persian Prince and a member of the Persian royal family, the Zand line. Among others considered for the role, he was the first choice. Sendhil Ramamurthy was also considered. Fast Facts:
